  Fourteen killed in Brazil nightclub shootout At least 14 people were killed in an early Saturday shootout at a nightclub in Fortaleza, in northeastern Brazil, officials said. "We can confirm 14 deaths," Andre Costa, security secretary for the state of Ceara -- of which Fortaleza is the capital -- told a press conference.Seven of the victims were identified: three men, two women and two teenagers. Local newspaper O Povo reporter eight women and six men were killed. © Getty Fortaleza A spokesperson from the Institut Jose Frota hospital told AFP that six people, including a 12-year-old boy, had been rushed in for emergency care.

Updated: Wednesday, July 18 2018 4: 59 PM EDT2018-07-18 20: 59 :06 GMT. The woman accused of hitting and killing a local tow truck driver has been sentenced. The 27-year-old was last seen in the area of Dixie Highway near Van Norman Lake in Clarkston in early July, Michigan State Police said.

The collision between a van and a car occurred on the Drogehda to Slane Road at 8.05am today.

The driver of the car, 59-year-old woman, was seriously injured.

She was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, County Louth this morning where she was  later pronounced dead.

It's understood the driver and passenger of the van received non life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place. It is expected to reopen around 4pm.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses  to contact them in Drogheda on 041-987 4200, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
