Gardai hunting 'lone wolf' gunman who shot Jason 'Buda' Molyneaux A “lone wolf” gunman is responsible for at least two of the most recent gangland shootings, the Irish Mirror has learned.

Investigators now believe the crazed North Dublin criminal murdered 26-year-old Jason “Buda” Molyneaux on Tuesday night.

He is thought to have shot and maimed another man, Graham “Choco” Byrne, 44, last Friday night.

In an other worrying development it is now feared the shootings are part of a new front in the war eating Dublin gangland alive.

It is now suspected the recent shooting, although beneficial to the Kinahan gang, is almost certainly related to a horrific double murder.

Innocent mum Antoinette Corbally-Devoy, 47, and 30-year-old Clinton Shannon – who also had no criminal connections – were shot dead last August at Balbutcher Avenue, Ballymun, Dublin.

The intended target of that hit, Derek “Bottler” Devoy, a convicted drug dealer, fled the scene after he dropped a baby and leapt over walls to get away.

Investigators still believe Derek Hutch, 27 – who was shot dead at a halting site in Dublin on January 20 – may have been a victim of the Kinahans but the two most recent shootings were carried out by the new killer on the block.

The source added: “There were gun seizures in parts of the city recently as this other gang sought to arm themselves for the murders ahead.

"The gunman concerned was deeply distressed about the double murder.

Key to the Molyneaux shooting is the involvement of a woman who gardai suspect summonsed him to James Larkin House on Tuesday, the night of the killing.

He told his pals that he was going to meet someone who needed to give him money.

Molyneaux crossed the street from his own flat complex and met the gunman in a white van.

He was blasted six times by the assassin who was concealed in the vehicle.

Garda believe the new killer may have had involvement in the murder of Jamie Tighe, a close associate of “Buda” Molyneaux, shot dead last October.

Tighe had been suspected of involvement in the Balbutcher atrocity.
