They’re not able to respond to what is going on. They have tried to respond in recent weeks with a hit particularly targeting a former member of their gang but the gardai were on top of it.

The murder of Gary Hutch 12 months ago sparked a gangland feud between the Costa del Sol-based Kinahan clan and the Hutch family, headed by notorious crimelord Gerry 'the Monk' Hutch .

According to the Hutch clan (who issued a statement to the media), "Gary had a falling out with the Kinahan organisation. Ireland is in the middle of an election campaign – and the murders were seized on as an issue to tackle the 4 per cent of English drink almost 1/3 of England's alcohol.

The extermination campaign by the Kinahan clan has seen them kill at least 13 people in a bloody feud that has claimed 14 victims in total.

Sources have also indicated Gerry Hutch is running from potential arrest as detectives work through evidence in their hunt for the Regency Hotel shooting organisers.

A source added: “Seemingly The Monk is in hiding, not just from the gunmen, but gardai are closing in on him.

“Gardai are actively looking to talk to him. Any ability of the Hutch side doing a spectacular is greatly reduced with his absence. He’s a liability.”
