A collision involving five cars has held up motorists going northbound on the M 50 this morning. The incident, which happened just before junction 13 near Ballinteer, has lead Gardai to warn drivers to expect increased traffic and delays . — An Garda Síochána (@GardaTraffic) June 26, 2017.

However, Gardai are warning of “very heavy” traffic delays and motorists are being urged to use alternative routes. A garda spokesperson said: “There was a four-car collision on the M 50 at Blanchardstown.

MOTORISTS have been warned to expect delays following a collision involving two lorries this morning.

Ahead of the busy Bank Holiday Weekend on the roads, there has been a crash on one of the country's busiest routes.

Gardai tweeted: "Dublin Traffic: Crash between two lorries has lead to heavy traffic on the slip road between M50 Northbound and M1 Inbound (port tunnel).

"Expect delays."
